Positivo (POSI3) New Offer

Feb. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Positivo Informatica SA, Brazil’s biggest computer maker, surged the most in two months in Sao Paulo trading on speculation Lenovo Group Ltd. increased its buyout offer.
Positivo gained 49 percent to 7.74 reais at 11:49 a.m. New York time amid speculation Lenovo, China’s biggest maker of personal computers, boosted its offer to 31 reais per share from 18 reais.
“There’s nothing official, but there are rumors that they changed the offer price,”
Positivo rejected the 18 reais-per-share offer in December, saying it was “not attractive in the long term.” Positivo, controlled by its executives, said in December “it’s not looking for takeover proposals.”
Lenovo said in December that it would seek a so-called strategic alliance with Positivo after talks to buy the Curitiba, Brazil-based company fell through.
A Lenovo spokeswoman in Sao Paulo declined to comment when contacted by Bloomberg News today. Positivo’s Sao Paulo-based spokeswoman didn’t immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
